Position Summary
The Bramcolm team is seeking a Principal Cloud Architect who’s passionate about shaping the future of cloud adoption for enterprise organizations. You’ll play a key role in designing and delivering secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions across diverse client environments. Your expertise in Microsoft Azure and multi-cloud strategy will help drive innovation, flexibility, and architectural excellence.
The right person will guide hybrid and cloud-native infrastructure journeys, apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, and set the standards that ensure security and compliance. Most importantly, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor and technical leader, influencing the direction of cloud strategy and empowering teams to adopt the cloud with confidence.

Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Design Leadership
- Architect and lead the design of cloud solutions across Microsoft Azure and other public cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Google Cloud) to support hybrid and multi-cloud environments
- Define and maintain cloud architecture standards and best practices for performance, scalability, resilience, and compliance
- Design modern application patterns including microservices, serverless architectures, Kubernetes orchestration, and event-driven systems
- Evaluate and recommend cloud services and solutions that align with client business objectives and technical requirements
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Build and scale Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions with Terraform, including reusable modules and automated deployment pipelines
- Create standardized templates and frameworks that accelerate cloud deployments across client environments
- Implement CI/CD automation for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
- Establish version control and testing practices for infrastructure code
Multi-Cloud Strategy & Governance
- Drive governance through Azure Policy and equivalent tools across multi-cloud environments
- Develop strategies for cloud vendor diversity and workload portability
- Integrate and optimize diverse cloud environments (AWS, GCP, OCI, Azure) for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Establish architectural patterns that support vendor flexibility while maintaining consistency
Security & Compliance
- Apply modern security frameworks including Zero Trust and SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) to protect cloud and edge environments
- Design secure-by-default architectures that embed security controls at every layer
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational security policies
- Implement identity and access management (IAM) strategies across multi-cloud platforms
Technical Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor and coach junior engineers while evangelizing best practices across client organizations
- Advance a cloud-first, DevOps-driven culture through technical leadership and thought leadership
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to client leadership teams
- Lead architectural reviews and provide strategic guidance on complex cloud initiatives
- Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Client Engagement & Innovation
- Partner with clients to understand their business challenges and translate them into cloud architecture solutions
- Propose innovative solutions that leverage emerging cloud technologies and best practices
- Document architectural decisions, design patterns, and implementation guidelines
- Continuously learn and adopt new cloud services and capabilities to maintain technical excellence
Required Qualifications
Technical Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, OR 4+ years of additional relevant work experience in lieu of degree
- Minimum of 8 years of cloud platform design experience
- Minimum of 8 years of Microsoft Azure platform support experience
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including:
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS)
- Azure identity and access management (Azure AD, RBAC)
- Azure governance tools and frameworks
- Networking, compute, storage, and database services
- Hands-on experience with Terraform to:
- Automate cloud deployments
- Create reusable infrastructure components and modules
- Streamline CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure
- Proven ability to design cloud-native architectures including:
- Microservices and containerization
- Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Serverless computing patterns
- Event-driven architectures
- API gateways and service mesh
Security & Compliance Knowledge
- Understanding of modern security frameworks including Zero Trust architecture and SASE
- Experience applying security controls to protect cloud and edge environments
- Knowledge of identity and access management best practices
- Familiarity with compliance requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, etc.)
Multi-Cloud Experience
- Demonstrated success working across multiple cloud platforms:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Microsoft Azure
- Ability to integrate and optimize diverse cloud environments
- Understanding of cloud-agnostic design patterns and tools
Architecture & Design Skills
- Enterprise-scale cloud solution design and implementation
- Hybrid cloud architecture patterns and integration strategies

- Experience in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, energy, or government
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman)
- Background in application development or software engineering
- Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices
